Probably better known for its hot springs but for us this is now home. We pulled into the school around 3.00 so the kids could take a quick look around and meet some of the other children. Hit a pot hole doing the turn and split a water pipe. The time we would have liked to spend looking around the soon to be our little block of land was instead spent rushing off to Reefton in the hope of getting a new fitting to replace the one i broke. we got there just as the hardware store was closing and as i expected no fitting. i grabbed something else i thought might do the job, we had some dinner of fish and chips to add to my already unhealthy weight and then left for home. just before dark i unsuccessfully replaced the old fitting and had to reuse the old one instead and as long as the pump isn’t turned on it doesn’t leak. I got a ”GOOD EFFORT” comment from Serena but feel like its been a hard day all round and sleep is what i really need right now. The water tank man left a message that he would deliver the tank on Saturday. I checked the bank account and we have enough for a new fitting for the water pipe, diesel for Serena to get a trailer load of plants and maybe a cheap shovel. we still need a spouting system of some sort to get the water into the tank and a way to stop it coming out again. All too much for my little brain tonight….
