I wasn’t born black so I guess you could say I had white privilege but if you new where I came from you wouldn’t think so but we’re just judging the outside of the body here so pretty simple to form a judgment if you were not white. But now it’s the vaxed and the unvaccinated. And now my white privilege has gone and I’m black. I’m the minority. I’m the one who gets the looks and the crossing to the other side of the road. The new leper. I don’t even want to get into the debate over who’s right and who’s wrong. All that matters is I’m on the fringe again. Deferent yet the same. It’s all perspective and thankfully after spending time traveling and not fitting in I really don’t care what people think. I don’t mind being ostracized and told I can’t go amongst the vaccinated. I might miss the midnight k Mart shopping or the odd movie but the things that people put a great deal of investment into, whether it’s sports or whatever. I’m happy being left alone to get on with my Life. At least that’s what I tell myself but inside I hurt because being rejected hurt’s if we’re honest. It’s like a sense of betrayal when people who you thought cared, when the passport Business came into effect slammed the door on everything. You knock but they don’t answer. Why? How did one day change you from friend to foe. I don’t blame the business people, although some who acted as though we were the enemy will come to regret that come winter when traffic slows. The government can only keep paying their subsidiaries for so long. I’m proud I am a minority now and I think I always was. I just forgot for a while.
